Desolation Wilderness

A much needed off the grid jaunt to a bucket list hiking playground with some good buddies. Haven't pulled out the backpacking gear since the legendary Lost Coast trip in 2021. Starting point at Emerald Bay with a ~6 mile stair master for a 2000 foot elevation gain to Middle Velma Lake. The pain was worth the gain. We had our own private cove & peninsula embedded on a rock side with a natural diving board. Desolation Wilderness--chefs kiss.

Trail dog, gin rummy, hammock lounging, dips in Lake Velma, waterfall hikes, 10/10 sunsets, morning coffee and a well equipped team.
